After planning your networks and clusters, you define the complete network by assigning a system name to the local node and then adding the remote elements to the Network Elements form.
NOTE: You can sort the form records in ascending order based on the field type by clicking on the field header. If you click the Data Refresh button, the form records will be displayed back in their original order.
To assign information to the local element
Go to the Network
Elements form.
Select the LOCAL element.
The element that you are currently logged into is the local element.
Click Change.
Enter a unique system name of up to 9 characters in length for the local element. The name should start with an upper case letter, all other letters lower case (a-z, 0-9, _, and no spaces). The IP address of the local element is displayed in 4 octet format and the Local field will be set to True.
NOTE: The system name must be identical to the name that is programmed in the System Name field of the New Node window of MiVoice Enterprise Manager.
Enter the Zone Number (default 1) for the IP media stream originating or terminating at this network element.
Under 3300/SX2000 Properties, select the Member of Cluster box and enter the PBX Number/Cluster Element ID for this element.
Click Save. The local element name will be added to the Network Elements form. The Data Sharing field will display "---" to indicate that the field is not applicable to the local element.
To add the remote elements
Go to the Network
Elements form.
Click Add.
Enter a unique system name of up to 9 characters in length for the remote element. The name must match the system name that is programmed in the Network Elements form of the remote element.
NOTE: If you are creating a cluster from newly installed systems, you can program the system names on the master element and distribute them via SDS to the cluster elements.
Select the type of element. SDS is only supported for MiVoice Business/3300 ICP type elements. If you set the network element type to an element type other than SX-2000 or MiVoice Business/3300 ICP, the Cluster Element ID, Clustered, and Primary Node ID fields will be disabled. These fields only apply to SX-2000 or MiVoice Business systems.
Enter the IP address or FQDN of the remote element. The Local field of remote elements is automatically set to False.
NOTE: To change an existing remote system's IP address, modify the address through the Server Manager.
Enter the Zone Number (default 1) for the IP media stream originating or terminating at this network element.
Under 3300/SX2000 Properties, select the Member of Cluster box.
Enter the Cluster Element ID Index for this element.
Click Save.
The new element record is added to the Network Elements form.
The Data Sharing field is set to NO. This field identifies the data sharing status for this element.
The new element is added to the same Network Group and same Administrative Group as the local element (the element that you are currently logged in to).
If your network will include a cluster, proceed to Defining the Cluster. If your network does not use clusters, proceed to Define Administrative Groups.
